  • What is Hiko carrying in the jug? Sake, of course!

  • Why does Battousai place that flower on the guy that he killed? Battousai is showing compassion for him.

  • Nibu Wolves=Shinsengumi= The groups that supported the Shogunate. Many samurai supported the shoguns.

  • Why does Kenshin say "sister" after his training (the scene with the big tree at night) when he doesn't have any sisters? Kasumi, Akane, Sakura and Shinta grew close in the short time they knew each other. He was willing to fight to protect them, even though he knew that he'd lose, but Hiko comes along and straighten things out.

    Kenshin might have been thinking back to that fateful day when he says "sister" and is trying to protect them. He had probably been training all day and into the night until the stars came out. He had blisters on his hands - signs he was trying really hard to become stronger.

  • Why is Tomoe out walking at night before the end of the first oav?
    1. Kenshin asks why she had been out the night before. Tomoe says she had been getting drunk.(Fact)

    2. She was the one who hired the underground assassin. She wanted to see Kenshin die with her own eyes. (Possible)

    Katsura and Iizuka never did find out who hired that ninja. Tomoe states in her diary: "I plotted with others to bring about your destruction." (your meaning Battousai in this context)

  • Do Kenshin and Tomoe..ahem.."Make love?" You can assume what you want, they never tell you if they do or don't

  • Why was one ninja eating snow? He wanted his mouth to be cold so no steam came out that would give away his position. (I thought that was really neat!)

  • What's the burning symbol in the background? It's kanji for "dai" (large in English). A bonfire is lit in mid July to send the spirits of the dead back to the afterlife. In Kyoto, they light it on the side of a mountain.
